Westlake High School is located in Waldorf, MD. The school opened in 1992. The Board of Education named the school after the community of Westlake, which includes the Hampshire, Lancaster and Dorchester neighborhoods and is located in St. Charles. Westlake’s Planning and Design Review Board chose the name because it is the western most point of the 9,100 acres that make up St. Charles. Westlake includes homes, apartments and a series of lakes. Building in the community began in 1984. It is home to more than 11,000 people.
