Millersville is a community located in Anne Arundel County. It shares a border to the north with the Severn Run Natural Environmental Area. Located to the east is the community of Severna Park. Millersville shares a border to the west with the community of Gambrills and the community of Odenton. Located to the south is the community of Crofton and the community of Crownsville.
Millersville was named for the first Postmaster, George Miller. On July 24, 1841, it was the first Post Office to be established along the Annapolis & Elkridge Railroad (the A&E). Completed in 1840, The A&E was completed in 1840 and was one of the earliest rail lines in the United States. It connected Annapolis with the Washington Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Millersville is mostly suburban, but the core of the historic village still remains. The Childs Residence was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is a focal point of the bike trail that passes through the historic area of the community.
