Learn about Mount Victoria, Maryland

Mount Victoria is an unincorporated community located in southern Charles County.  It is situated  between the Wicomico River and the Potomac River.  Mount Victoria is located near the community of Newburg to the West and the community of Issue and Swan Point to the South.

Mount Victoria was named for a 15,000-acre farm that was owned by Robert Crain.  He was an attorney and farmer.  Crain’s lobbying efforts led to the opening of the Maryland portion of U.S. Highway 301 in 1927.  His farm was said at the time to be the largest private landholding in Maryland.
