Queenstown is a town in Queen Anne’s County. It is located on the State of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.45 square miles. All of that area is land.
Queenstown was the original county seat of Queen Anne’s County. The County seat was changed to Centreville. The location of Queenstown was important during the 18th century. This is because it is near a creek that, during that time, could be navigated by tradesmen. The town was hub for shipping and receiving. Queenstown was attacked by English troops during the War of 1812. The attack occurred on August 13, 1813.
