Stevensville is a community in Queen Anne’s County.  It is located on the State of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.  It is the county’s most populous place. The community is the eastern terminus of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.  The Stevensville Historic District is one of only two registered historic districts in the county, the other one is the Centreville Historic District.

Stevensville was founded in 1850 as a steamboat terminal.  Today, the Historic District contains roughly 100 historic structures that date back to the town’s early days.  There are many structures that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  They include the Christ Church, Cray House, Friendship, Legg’s Dependence, Mattapax, and Stevensville Bank.

On July 24, 2017, an EF2 tornado hit Stevensville.  It caused damage to homes, trees, and power lines and injured one person.  According to the United States Census Bureau, Stevensville has a total area of 6.1 square miles, all of which is land.  The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.
