Fishing Creek is a community in Dorchester County.  It is part of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.  The community is located on Upper Hoopers Island.  Local legend speaks of a number of ghosts in the Fishing Creek area.  The village is on the upper island of the three-island chain known as Hoopers Island.

Fishing Creek is located about 15 miles south of the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and 24 south of the City of Cambridge.  Hoopersville is located on Middle Hooper Island about 6 miles to the south of Fishing Creek.  The Hooper Island Light was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
