Hurlock is a town in Dorchester County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. It shares a border to the north with the community of Federalsburg. Located to the south is the community of Rhodesdale. Hurlock shares a border to the west with the community of Trappe across the Choptank River in Talbot County. Located to the east is the State of Delaware.
The town was named after John M. Hurlock. He was a local store owner. It was incorporated in 1892. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.88 square miles. Of that area, 2.66 square miles is land and 0.22 square miles is water.
