Crapo is a town in the southern part of Dorchester County. It is located on the east bank of the Honga River. Across the river it the community of Fishing Creek to the west and the community of Hoopersville to the south. Crapo shares a border with the community of Toddville and the community of Wingate to the east. Located to the north is the community of Church Creek.
The town is frequently noted on lists of unusual place name. The name Crapo comes from “crapaud.” That is the French word for toad.
