Do You Know of Any Rental Properties
that Accept Housing Vouchers?

There are several housing voucher programs available in Maryland.  Unfortunately, there is no centralized or master list of rental properties that accept vouchers.

However, as of October 1, 2020, source of income became a protected class under Maryland fair housing law.  This means that most rental property owners in Maryland are required to consider applicants who use housing vouchers.  This requirement applies to homes listed by real estate agents in the Regional Multiple Listing Service (Bright MLS).

There are limits to this law. While property owners may not advertise or state that vouchers will not be accepted, all applicants are still subject to the same application processing and screening criteria. Applications may be denied based on factors such as credit history, criminal background, prior evictions, or previous legal actions.

You may review the procedures we use to process rental applications for more information about our screening standards.
