Are You Licensed to Manage
Rental Properties in Maryland?

As of January 1, 2024, Maryland law does not require residential property managers to be licensed.  We believe that the Maryland Real Estate Commission (MREC) wants to change this to protect consumers.  Changing this law is something that would be introduced in the Maryland General Assembly.  We hope that legislation will be introduced again in the 2024 legislative session that is currently underway.  This change in the law has always faced opposition in the General Assembly.  It is our understanding that it is opposed by legislators who are also property managers.

We would like to offer you our FREE E-Book.   It is Investment Real Estate: Your Best Hedge Against Inflation .  It will provide you with a wealth of general information about residential real estate beginning with how to build wealth with real estate.

It also explains the rental listing process and information about property management to protect your investment.  Finally, you will learn about the services that we provide to our homeowners.

You can easily set up a Zoom Meeting to get  more information about our services.  We can discuss your specific circumstances.

Zoom Meeting for E-BookProvide us with a couple of times that you would like to meet for your 30-minute session.  We think this is a better way to start than using just email, text messages and phone calls.  Give it a try!  We want to become your preferred real estate agents and property managers and look forward to speaking with you.

We believe requiring property managers to be licensed and under the supervision of the MREC would be a good thing for consumers.  DMS Properties, LLC Residential Real Estate Services is a full-service real estate brokerage company.  We only hire real estate agents that are licensed by the MREC.  That includes anyone providing property management services.

All Maryland real estate agents must take a minimum of 15 hours of Continuing Education (CE) during every two-year licensing period.  This helps us to stay well informed about State and local laws.  It makes us better at managing your property.  We have a vast knowledge of the Maryland real estate market.  We also are well-versed in landlord-tenant issues.
