Do You Work with Dual-Career
Real Estate Agents?
Yes, we are absolutely happy to work with Dual-Career real estate agents, also known as part-time agents. In fact, most people begin their real estate careers this way. Starting part-time is often a smart choice because it allows new agents to build their business while still having the security of another source of income. It can be intimidating to leave a full-time job for a new career with no guaranteed income, and this approach removes that pressure.
Understanding the Challenges
Unfortunately, an important reality is that many newly licensed agents leave the industry within their first three years. According to statistics from the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), it typically takes about five years for a new agent to become fully established. This means support, systems, and a realistic approach to career-building are essential, especially for part-time agents.
Why Dual-Career Agents Fit Well With Us
We believe DMS Properties, LLC Residential Real Estate Services is an excellent home for Dual-Career agents. Unlike many companies, we do not charge:
- Mandatory company fees
- Transaction fees
- Desk fees
- E&O Insurance fees
While agents will still have some business-related expenses as they grow, our structure significantly reduces the financial burden, making it easier for part-time agents to stay active without high overhead. Our commission plan is also very accommodating to dual-career professionals.
Experience That Matches Your Journey
Our Principal Broker, Dale M. Servetnick, began his career as a Dual-Career real estate agent and spent about 13 years at another company. He understands firsthand how challenging it can be when a brokerage imposes mandatory fees that strain an agent’s finances. This experience directly shaped how we designed our compensation model and cost structure, so agents can succeed without unnecessary financial stress.
Flexibility When You Need It
If an agent later decides that real estate is not the right fit, they always have the option to change their license status to Inactive and become a referral real estate agent through our referral program. This allows them to keep their license, avoid most expenses, and continue earning referral income.
